Message! Understanding Twitter Talk

Twitter has become one of the fasted developing social websites today. For those new comers, understanding Twitter can be a bit overwhelming and confusing. So I'm posting some commonly used Twitter Talk to help you on your Twitter journey. NOTE: to grow and generate a buzz for yourself on Twitter you must UPDATE, FOLLOW, and RETWEET. Repeat these steps continuously.


Twitter Talk


DM /Direct Message
send a direct, private message to another Twitter user (Message! You must be following each other to send direct messages.)

RT /Retweet
to retweet means to repost someone else’s tweet

#
is a hashtag. Hashtags are associated with specific trends and topics. Example: #PRadvice

Followers
people who “add” or “follow” you on Twitter

Following
people you have “added” or are “following” on Twitter

@
comes before someone’s Twitter name. This is their Twitter address. For example, @moxiepr
